About Me
I love helping to bring stories to life! As an author with experience behind the scenes of both traditional and self-publishing, I know how much work it takes to see a story from inspiration to publication.
My editing experience spans from flash fiction, to picture books, to full length novels and I have helped writers from the earliest stages of drafting through copy editing.
I have a passion for speculative fiction and strive to embody the charm of folklore and fairy tales in my own work. My short stories, poetry, and creative nonfiction have been published in a variety of literary journals.
My illustrations have also been published in literary magazines as well as in children's literature and feature a combination of traditional and digital mediums.

The Squirrel and the Moon
Said the squirrel to his mother, "I am going to the moon. The trip will take me not too long and I shall come home soon."
When a young squirrel sets out to bring a souvenir home from the moon, he discovers that his task is more daunting than he'd expected. Can he make it to the moon and back?
Jacob Haffner's poem about the adventure of a young squirrel is brought to life with vibrant illustrations by Clarissa Janeen. This book also includes sheet music so that parents and children can enjoy the story in song!
IngramSpark #1 bestseller
"The Squirrel and the Moon by Jacob Haffner is a story of a baby squirrel's determination and his mother's unwavering love, brilliantly depicted by Clarissa Janeen's colorful illustrations."

She knelt on the dirt of her front yard and fished a smooth rock out of the soil. She tossed it in her pocket and brushed the dirt off her denim shorts. Quinn then continued scouring her front yard for sticks, leaves, bits of wood, and blades of grass...

The Brownie's New Home
A hush fell over the tiny flat as night descended. Moonlight cascaded in through locked windows. Crickets chirped on the sidewalk below, occasionally drowned out by a passing car. The air in the flat was cool, perfect for snuggling under thick blankets, which the residents did happily as they tottered off to bed to dream of wonders.
The brownie emerged from the folds of shadows to begin his work...
